Alishan Forest Recreation Area is 2,216 meters above sea level, surrounded by high mountains and cool climate. Sunrise, sea of clouds, sunset glow, forest, mountaineering forest railway are listed as the five wonders of Alishan, and it is famous internationally. The Alishan area straddles the hot, warm and temperate zones of vertical distribution of forests in Taiwan. It contains rich forest resources, especially cypress, which is internationally famous and can be seen everywhere when you walk in the forest. Red cypress, Taiwan cypress, Taiwan fir, hemlock and Huashan pine are known as the five trees of Alishan. Chinese cedar is the most successful alien tree species in the artificial afforestation in this area. Every year from mid-March to mid-April is the cherry blossom season in this area. Other flowers such as Rhododendron Mori, heather, foxglove, etc. are also blooming one after another. In addition, the protected area of Taiwan's Yiyelan Nature Reserve is also worthy of appreciation. Natural landscapes such as Tashan Mountain and Sister Lake Alpine Lake, as well as precious cultural and historical resources such as museums, Ciyun Temple, and old train exhibition grounds are also worth visiting.
